The "Golden Bird" landed on the stair tower of the historic Zeughaus, which dates back to the 16th century, on April 25, 1991. The action artist HA Schult, who became known worldwide for his "Trash People," had created this winged car as part of the two-week art action "Fetish Car." The then Cologne District President demanded the dismantling of the work of art, citing the protection of historical monuments, but to this day the winged car is "temporarily tolerated" on the Zeughaus.
